Is a hot tub difficult to clean?
Hot tubs are not difficult to clean at all. First, you must drain the water from your hot tub. Once the water is drained, remove all pillows or vinyl attachments around the inside of the hot tub as well as any filter heads or vent heads. Wash these separately in a detergent solution such as Simple Green or any cleaning product sold by your local spa supply shop. Now, scrub the inside surface of your hot tub. Some surfaces scratch easily so be aware and begin with a non abrasive scrub brush. It is also a good idea to soak and clean your filters at this point. If your jets come out, remove them at this time and clean them. Small brushes work best to get in the smaller areas. The cleaning process usually takes about an hour to complete and should be done once a month, or more depending on spa traffic.
