How durable and thick is the gunite you use for your inground pools?
The gunite sw use for our swimming pools is one of the most durable and thick blends of concrete available. Because the concrete we used is mixed at a concrete plant instead of on-site, you can be sure you are getting the best and most durable gunite mix available. The thickness of the gunite varies with the areas of the swimming pool. On most pool builds where reinforcement is not necessary, the side walls of the swimming pool are 6" - 8" thick, where the pool reaches the floor, the gunite is 10" to 12" thick, and the floors are 6" to 8" thick. The top of the pool is what's known as a "Bond Beam" which consists of 12" thick gunite.
